We are so grateful to have such incredible people on our team. Sarah share’s her 3 Trees journey!

Right Care Profession, Wrong Place

Before I joined 3 Trees, I was working in home care. I loved the people I cared for, but not the constant early morning and late nights. I hated not having enough time to do my job correctly before moving on to the next call.”

One day, my then-boyfriend (now husband) came home and said the company his friend Lauren worked for was recruiting and that I should apply. I checked out the company, liked what I saw and filled in the application!

Taking the Leap

Going for the interview was scary, but I could not have been more welcomed by the people I met and made at ease by those who interviewed me. I love my job. It’s not an easy role, but it’s incredibly rewarding, and someone is always around to help if needed.

Making People Smile Every Day

My favourite part of my job is knowing I have enabled someone to do the things I take for granted. Seeing smiles on a service user’s face because I have put on their favourite music or TV show or hearing a service user laugh because you have sung out of tune or done some random dancing- that’s what it is all about.

Nurturing Caring Communities

Looking back, care and support have always been a part of my life; my mum works in a nursing home, and my sister is a support worker like myself. As kids, my sister and I would go in and talk (often I would sing) to the residents where my mum worked; I always enjoyed this and would ask if there were things I could do to help.

Flexible Shifts and Exciting Work

My job as a social care worker allows me to be a full-time worker but only work 3/4 days a week because the shifts are longer. The position also allows me to go on days out to places like zoos, museums and seaside trips. Last year I took a service user on holiday and got paid for it; how many people can say that?”

Supporting Team Manager

3 Trees feel more like a family than a company; yes, there is structure, but I know if I needed anything, I could speak to a director and a team manager.
