Today is about recognising humanitarian workers around the world and raising awareness of the millions of people whose lives are impacted by crisis, conflict, and disaster.

This international day was established by the United Nations in memory of the 2003 bombing of the UN headquarters in Baghdad, which tragically took the lives of 22 people, including humanitarian leader Sérgio Vieira de Mello.

Every year, over 300,000 humanitarian workers operate in some of the most dangerous places on earth.

Thousands have lost their lives while providing life-saving assistance.

2️⃣ Avoid oversharing personal details
Keep the focus on the person you're supporting. Protect your privacy - and theirs.

3️⃣ Know when to say no
Not every request is appropriate. Saying “no” respectfully helps maintain safety and role clarity.

4️⃣ Stick to the care plan.
Boundaries are embedded in agreed plans for a reason. If something feels outside scope, check with your team.

5️⃣ Reflect and raise concerns

🐾 A Wild Day Out at @longleatofficial! ☀️🦒🛥️

What an unforgettable day our team had with one of our lovely ladies at Longleat! From lions to lemurs, and boat rides to belly laughs, the sun was shining and the smiles were even brighter. 😄🌞

She loved watching the animals roam in the safari park but the real entertainment came from our team’s questionable animal impressions! Safe to say, she found them hilarious 😂

And the best bit? She got to captain the boat! A proud moment and a brilliant way to soak up the scenery.
